Maui the Demigod

#1 Maui had older brothers.
#2 In some way he felt left out because every time his older brothers went fishing. when they had come back Maui said if he could go fishing with next time.
#3 Maui would do everything in his power to prove and show them that is manly and strong enough to be one of them.

  1. Hey there Pupuke,

Wow you have some clever ideas. It's interesting how you thought about Maui needing to prove himself - I never thought about that. My older brother used to leave me out of things too, and I suppose I would often try to prove myself to him too. I love the fact about the South Island being the Waka and the North Island being the fish that Maui caught, because when you look at a map of New Zealand the two islands actually look like a Waka and a giant fish. What do you think Maui's brothers thought of Maui after he pulled up that massive fish? He certainly showed a lot of courage to continue pulling it in and not cut the line.

    Thanks, Billy

  2. Hi Pupuke,

I agree with Billy - you have gathered clever ideas about Maui from just reading the article. I'm quite interested in any stories you may have heard of relating to Maui. Also, could you change that "Goddess" to "Demigod"? I know for a fact that Maui isn't a female deity ;)

But other than that, you're making great progress through the programme so far. Keep it up!
