Richie McCaw

1# He became the first All Black to reach 100 tests.

2# he has very quick hands.

3# he was brought up in North Otago.

On thing I want to know about Richie McCaw is, when he was going through his injury, did he ever feel an urge to go back and play? even though he had an injury.

  1. Hey Pupuke,

This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team.

Today's set of activities are all based on the topic of 'Sports' :) What would be your favourite sport? Mine is soccer! I can't play it, but I love watching the games! I cannot wait for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018. Richie McCaw is a very talented player and he sure is one of the most known rugby legend in New Zealand! Have you ever seen him play rugby? Have you went to the game to watch him play rugby on the field? Few years ago, my friends went to watch one of his games and they told me all about his amazing rugby skills!

    All the best,
    Jade C.

  2. G'day Pupuke!

Great work on completing another activity. With the facts you've gathered, wouldn't you think it's amazing for him to go through over 100 All Black rugby tests?! I think that's astounding and an amazing achievement in his rugby career.

I, too, wonder the same question as you after reading it - I bet he'd have those thoughts sometimes after an injury, and considering his perseverance and determination through those matches, I can say he probably gets through it! His commitment is surely one to behold.

Did you know he received the Order of New Zealand, the highest honour in the country, for his efforts during his rugby career? Pretty amazing stuff.

Good work! Good luck for school starting next week! ;)

    -Willy
