The Duffy Show
The Duffy show came to our school on Tuesday afternoon and performed their last show called the The Halloween Bully and the Cloak Bay Bully. I was so excited to watch their show, I really enjoyed their show and the message behind it. To be kind, caring and stand up for yourself.

Athletics
The seniors of Ruapotaka School have been training for our annual athletic tournament. I am so excited and kinda nervous for the people I will be running against.
The fastest year 8s are me, Saluselo, Vika and Mary. Tristan, Mary-Ruth, Konzay and Tiari are the fastest in the year 7s. I hope that I will come place, and maybe even bee chosen for the team.

Manaiaklani Film Festival 2018
Today Ruapotaka School went to Sylvia Park for the annual Manaiakalani film festival. Rooms 12, 10, 9 and 5, made very well edited and thought out movies to be displayed at the event.
It was so fun to see other schools films displayed, and all the hard work that they had put into their movies. Once Tupouseini and Saluselo the presenters for Room 12's film came on stage, I was so proud and happy for the two of them to represent our class and school.
Room 12's film is about where our grandparents came from and connecting to our roots. Sharing our steps on how we have come this far, in our Malaga Journey To Success.

Tennis With Coach Pete
Yesterday was our second session of tennis, first he taught us how to rally with our opponent, once he said swap we changed over with the other player that was waiting to have their turn.
I was so excited to have another try at tennis because I had never played before, but I think I did pretty well if I do say so myself. Not knowing what to do was a little challenging but when I did
the tips, and followed the instructions, I think I even could've played a match.

Term 4 Is Here!
We are now in term 4 2018, and getting very close to the end of the year. I am excited to start term 4 but nervous at the same time, for we have testing later on in the term.
This term I think we might be playing tennis with a coach that will train us. Mrs Vickers has now informed us that she will be retiring as principle and will no longer be working. I am keen to work hard and try to be better than before.

Pumphouse!!
The six prefects and nine other people from Room 12 have been chosen to go to a very special event called The Pumphouse.
I and 14 others are so excited to go by bus to the theater show. I'm not sure what we will be watching, but I'm sure it'll be great. I went the last time, and I am blessed to go a second time.

Term 3
It is near the end of term three, just two more weeks and we're done! I am both excited and scared because that means we're getting closer to term four.
The last two weeks will be quite stressful and mixed up, but I'm sure we can handle it.
Room 12 has been practising their speeches and there will be a performance day, for the finalists from each class.

Volleyball
12.Yesterday was our last session with Coach Rena. I was so sad to see her leave, but thankful that she had came in the first place.
In Room 12's last session with her we had a choice, we could either chose boys vs girls, elimination or a tournament, we all to do a combination of all three.
At the end of all games Katrina and Saluselo had the chance to thank her in front of all Room 12.

Speeches !!!!!!!
This week Room 12 is about to begin speeches! Yes I said speeches, one of the most stressful times of the year. I am both nervous and excited to begin and hear others perform.
I am sure all of Room 12 is stressed out because not only do all students have to write their own speech, they have to be memorized, have a nice clear and loud voice when performing and last but not least use as much expression as you can!

Poetry Finalist
After weeks of practicing, Mr Reid and Mrs Golder have now chosen the five students from Room 12 to go up and practice their final poems.
The five students names are Tupouseini, Jessica, Saluselo and Tyron. They now have to perform everyday after our daily fitness to practice their poems. In the next few weeks they will say their poem aloud to the whole school and their parents.

Cross Country
All of the senior block has been training by doing our very difficult daily fitness, to lead up to Wednesday the day of our cross country. We have been building up our stamina to go very long distance running with out stopping. Only the most sustained few will be able to go through the inter schools champion ship.

Powhiri
Today is Ruapotaka's first ever school Powhiri.
The Prefects had been chosen to lead and speak of the Powhiri, and sing songs. Saluselo and I have the second two parts out of the whole thing, Riiana will start of with a gathering speech, than Saluselo will say his part.
Mr Reid will then go on from there and I hope it will all run smoothly.

Hip Hop Choreographing
Today, at hip hop, Jess had come in once again to help teach us about the life of hip hop and what it means.
This week Room 12 had seperated into four groups of six and our task was to make and create a dance with our own unique twist and skills on it. In my group, there are Alex, Katrina, Liza and Izabella. We all had a part to play. Our first move was the Wip, with a little flick at the end.
Afterwards my group and I kept on building on after that.

Graphics At Tech
Today was our second session at Tech with Mr Pineda in our graphics class.
I was so excited to finish off my art work that I started last week. We had to draw our name using creative lettering and patterning. Our class had received a huge surprise in the middle of our session, a group of students from Tamaki College came in and did art with us.
I have nearly completed my art work and I'm just up to my last name.
